Maria started out working for a cleaning company, and she did it on purpose. She wanted to learn the business from the inside — how a home should be finished, how a crew should be run, what separates a job done from a job done properly — before she ever put her own name on it.
When she did, it began with business cards handed out one at a time. The first clients came from those cards, and from neighbors recommending her to neighbors. More than ten years later, that is still how most new clients find Clean & Shiny. There has never been much advertising, because there has never needed to be.
Today Maria runs two teams — six cleaners in all — across Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. What has not changed is the standard the work is held to: the details most people never think to ask for, and a crew that treats your home with the same respect they would want in their own.
That is why clients stay for years rather than seasons. And the best part of the job, Maria will tell you, is the message that comes afterward — a client writing to say their home looks beautiful again, and that it finally feels calm.
